Britney Renee's "Washingtonian" curated by Sandy Bellamy of  Department Of General Services (DGS)  to be installed in the newly renovated Ida B Wells Middle School in Washington DC.. The piece was created to highlight the liveliness of the city as well as to inspire the students of Ida B Wells as they move through the halls. The wolves (the schools mascot) are designed with DC inspired images and colors including the monuments, historical landmarks and the metro line colors. Britney Renee, being a predominate portrait artist, wanted to be able to create something that was abstract yet still represented the kids of the  school and community.

Britney Renee is heavily influenced by contemporary artist of today and the past including Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Jean Michael Basquiat, and Jeff Koons to name a few.
